Armoured feeder cables are used to feed electrical current to inductive cable loops. They are available in various sizes, but the two types most widely used in traffic control systems are:

FLFC1PR2.5

1 pair (2 cores) 2.5mm² solid annealed copper core with polyethylene (PE) insulation, polyethylene (PE) bedding, galvanised steel wire armour with an orange polyethylene (PE) sheath. 600/1000v. Wire colours are blue and brown. Temperature range + 70° C when installed. 500m drums.

FLFC2PR2.5

2 pair (4 cores) 2.5mm² solid annealed copper core with polyethylene (PE) insulation, polyethylene (PE) bedding, galvanised steel wire armour with an orange polyethylene (PE) sheath. 600/1000v. Wire colours are blue, brown, black and grey. Temperature range + 70° C when installed. 250m drums.

Both cables have an AC tension rating of 3.5kv for 5 mins.
